The charity’s mission is to “provide food, educate, give refuge and counsel those who are destitute, hungry and illiterate”. These children come from dire circumstances and while there are always sad stories, there is Hope as we watch many of them thrive and grow. It is so rewarding to see real outcomes over the years of very hard work. When we first started the school, as well as the pre school classes and adult classes teaching English and Kiswahili, we also held sewing classes; now it is a co-op run by the women who make the school uniforms and products to sell in local markets.
 
It is my enjoy factor to see these children growing up, learning and succeeding in their lives.  My own secure financial situation enables me to give of my time, energy and much needed funds, to helping others.
 
I’ve been with Provident for more than 10 years and Paul and Brett have helped me financially through many stages in my life, even the difficult ones they have made a little easier. I feel comfortable asking questions and it is important to me, as a single older woman, to have this support and good relationship with my financial planner. The whole Provident team make it easy to work with them, including Michelle and Sarah and all the great support service staff. Brett doesn’t seem to mind my persistent questions or the latest account of my volunteering with Nakuru Hope.
