Five years into our retirement, the financial security and peace of mind that Provident has instilled in us has enabled us to do all the things we enjoy. Being able to spend time with family and watching our grandchildren grow and mature is fantastic and a constant joy to us.
Travel is a passion of ours and we have just returned from three months in the mid north of WA. The highlights were Millstream-Chichester National Park and Cape Range National Park, and also the wonderful people that we met along the way.
We had planned to go to Canada and Alaska next year (inspired by Brett at Provident), but have decided to put that off for a while and continue our Australian travels next year - visiting the "Top End". (In 2012 we spent six months touring the East Coast of Australia).
Paul and Brett and all the friendly staff at Provident look after us so well and "The Enjoy Factor" is alive and well with us.
An Antarctic adventure has long been on our ‘must do some day’ list and, earlier this year, we managed it. The cruise departed from Ushuaia at the southern tip of South America and included time at the Falklands and South Georgia as well as the Antarctic Peninsula, nearly three weeks in all.
After this truly memorable trip, we spent another three weeks mainly in Patagonia trekking, glacier walking and enjoying the fascinating culture of this part of the world.
The trip, especially the Antarctic component, was not cheap and we were again very grateful to Provident for making the necessary financial arrangements and adjustments. We were able to go ahead with our plans confident that we were doing so without exceeding the capability of our finances to cope. This confidence is built on an association we have had with Provident which goes back nearly ten years now and which we hope will continue.
