The two essential ingredients for a happy retirement are good health, and a secure financial position. I am fortunate to have both, and I am able to keep myself occupied. After a bout with breast cancer I am now able to put that behind me; one of the positive outcomes, however, is coming to re-evaluate life and learning to fully enjoy and appreciate every day.
I am really enjoying my retirement, life is good. Since I was widowed 13 years ago I have had excellent financial advice from my financial planners. I have every confidence in them, and knowing they are there and looking after my best interests I have not had to worry about my financial future, and how I am going to manage. This gives me the freedom to get on and do what I enjoy most which includes travelling. I have had some wonderful overseas trips, but my favourite destination remains going home to southern Africa, into the big game areas. I belong to the Save the Rhino Foundation, an organization based here in Perth, and with them I have had some amazing hands-on, behind-the-scenes adventures in Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia. I have also had some fantastic camping trips along the Gibb River Road, and been to remote places in the Kimberley, which I have come to love. I am never happier than when I am in the beauty and vast open spaces of WA’s magical north. I thank Provident for making all this possible for me, by helping me to make the right decisions. I look forward to a happy and positive ongoing relationship with Provident in the years ahead.
Luckily we had both travelled in our younger days, separately and together, and after settling down and raising a family we thought our wandering days had finished but as we neared retirement Paul and his team came to our rescue and worked out a financial plan that would give us many more adventures. Their ideas gave us a fresh look at what could be achieved even from a relatively late starting superannuation nest egg.
Our thanks to all concerned for their care and attention in keeping us happy and travelling the world once again. Holidays in Italy, France, England ,Wales, Cambodia and Tasmania have all come from careful planning and control of our finances and this year all the family are heading to New Zealand for a special occasion, we have really rediscovered the enjoy factor with a lot of help from our friends at Provident.
