Paul Carter
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™
Paul is the Managing Director of Provident Financial Services and has been a financial planner since 1987.
Paul is actively involved in the development of the financial services industry. In 2002, Paul’s peers elected him Chairman of the AMP Adviser’s Representative Board. He held this role until 2005, during which time he obtained leading edge information and forward knowledge of future trends, enabling better management of Provident and his client relationships.
Paul Carter has completed all relevant financial planning qualifications as well as the highest qualification in his field, Certified Financial Planner™. He is also a member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia.
Financial advice can be quite a technical discipline, however, Paul approaches his role from a personal perspective, striving to articulate the advice in a way that is relevant to the individual situation of the client.
Paul’s primary responsibilities are concerned with the pre-retirement market, corporate clients and gearing strategies, however, his dedication and knowledge see him providing unique solutions in all facets of financial advice

Greg Neill GDipFinPlanning F Fin
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™
Greg is a Certified Financial Planner™, holds a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning, a Diploma of Financial Markets and Financial Services, and is a fellow of FINSIA. Greg has collectively been in the finance industry since 1991.
Prior to being with Provident, Greg held the senior management position of Advice Coach for AMP Financial Planning, where he led a team of Advice Specialists in WA, SA and NT. This followed his time as the Retirement Advice Specialist in WA for AMP Financial Planning.
Prior to this, Greg developed 7 years of extensive experience as a financial planner with Commonwealth Financial Planning in both Kalgoorlie and Perth and has a further 7 years experience in various banking and finance roles in South Australia, Northern Territory and Kalgoorlie.
Greg’s managerial, technical and advisory experience combine to create a deep understanding of a client’s financial position. Greg is passionate about improving a client’s financial well being whether they require simple debt advice or complex investment strategies for their retirement.

Peter McDonald B.Bus (Acc) Dip FP
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™
Peter has been a Financial Planner since 1997.
He holds a Bachelor of Business degree in accounting from
EdithCowanUniversity. He has a diploma of Financial Planning and is a member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia. Peter is a Certified Financial Planner™.
Peter is dedicated to high advice standards through his specialist advice in wealth creation, retirement, pre-retirement and strategic debt advice. Building wealth for retirement and mortgage reduction strategies feature broadly in advice provided by Peter. He assists Provident in researching, constructing and updating our investment portfolios. Aside from retirement and wealth creation advice he advises small business operators, most commonly in relation to superannuation, succession and risk management.
Peter enjoys the diverse nature of people’s needs and views. Rules, laws and strategies do not change materially from person to person however the way in which they apply to different individuals can vary substantially.

Brett Surman BBus (MIS) GradDipAppFin
FINANCIAL PLANNER
Brett has accumulated significant experience in his 4 years in the finance industry. Prior to joining Provident as a financial planner, his work achievements include a position as Investment Adviser at DJ Carmichael and Trading Representative at Westpac.
Brett has also accumulated significant qualifications in his field. He holds a Bachelor of Business degree, a Certificate of Financial Planning from FINSIA and a Post Graduate degree in Applied Finance from Kaplan. Proving his strength in his chosen area of study, Brett was invited into, and became a member of, the Golden Key Honours Society after completing his Bachelor of Business degree.
Brett’s move from stock broking to financial planning was a result of his genuine passion for protecting his clients’ wealth by providing them with a holistic financial vision. He considers this to be the foundation for the achievement of any financial goal.

Mike has been a financial planner since 1987.
Mike holds a diploma of Financial Planning through Deakin University, is a Certified Financial Planner practitioner and a member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia.
Mike has broad experience in all areas of financial planning, specialising in retirement and succession planning. By focusing on client's needs and providing recommendations, Mike assists clients in achieving
their financial goals and objectives.

Ben Levy Dip FS (FP)
FINANCIAL PLANNER
Ben has been a financial planner since 1986.
Ben moved from South Africa with his family where he owned and ran his own financial planning business for 23 years.
Further to his experience and qualifications in South Africa, Ben has also achieved his Diploma of Financial Services in Australia.
Ben is passionate about creating a solid financial foundation for his clients whether it be simple budgeting principles or more complex retirement strategies.
